5days tour leader  / 2013

One of my work. A kind of personal study tour for person with disability. We had a study meeting about accessible tourism every month. 7 members (4 wheelchairs, 1 cane, 1 elder, 1 big man) went to Singapore. We used public transportation. Singapore MRT is quite wheelchair accessible today. All the station have lifts or ramp. Non step between train and platform. Easy to use !

For wheelchair traveler, I recommend to stay near MRT station.

Universal Studio Singapore was great !  Perfect accessibility and service. The regulation of using attraction is only asked " Can you move the seat by yourself ? "  We always say YES. Therefore we enjoyed all the attraction. Unfortunately, I cannot use all the attraction in Universal Studio Japan because I cannot walk. Here Singapore, no problem. Same right to enjoy.

Egypt area. Mummy ride was the best for us. If you try to ride it, take your own responsibility.

Jurassic Park area food court. Great atmosphere.

Easy coaster. All the attraction were wheelchair accessible. If you can move the seat by yourself or attendant help, you can enjoy them.

2nd day. we walked to Merlion along the river from hotel located near Clarke Quay.

Many nice restaurants and bars are on Boat Quay, but all closed in the morning.

There was no ramp only stairs near Merlion. Not easy to find a ramp (400m east on the road)

There was a public toilet on the way from Merlion to Marina Bay Sands. Many wheelchair toilets in new buildings. We were so happy to find a wheelchair accessible toilet easily in Singapore.

200m high Marina Bay Sands view deck.

Floating soccer stadium and Formula 1 circuit course.

Gardens by the Bay. This new spot has just opened in 2012. Nice view !!

Wheelchair accessible toilet exists anywhere in new buildings.

Do not miss visiting Gardens by the Bay. Fantastic garden. Of course full wheelchair accessible.

Cloud Forest is amazing. Artificial water falls come from a huge green mountain.

All trails are wheelchair accessible. We can clime up a green mountain by lift and walk around on sky walk.

Amazing experience. Exciting and heeling. Easy to touch nature here.

This is bus waiting board. Some are wheelchair non-step buses.

Night Safari. Also wheelchair accessible. We go around by 40 minutes tram. Some tram has 2 wheelchair space on 1st tram. No fence. Watch, sounds, smell, winds, five senses zoo. It is possible to walk in Forest Giants Trail on wheelchair, but hilly.

China town at night. Safety city. Snake is 2013 year animal.

3rd day, we went to Little India by MRT.

Not modern area, but has energy and vitality. Many come for shopping in Sunday morning.

Breakfast-lunch at local Indian restaurants. Taste good !

Mosque in Little India. Singapore is a mix culture city

Typical local food court " Hawkers". Cheep and fast.

Dinner on Clarke Quay river side. Chill cram is one of the most famous food in Singapore. One chill club costs about 40 US$...  Not cheep, but excellent.

4th day. We visited Disabled People's Association Singapore and studied Singapore person with disabilities life.

Also we visited Bizlink which provides comprehensive employment services for disadvantaged people especially the disabled. Good study and international exchange.
